Rapid Bay
Rapid Bay is 100 k’s south from Adelaide on the Fleurieu Peninsula. A steep, descending road winds its way through the undulating hills to a quaint town. The campground is directly on a beautiful beach. It’s a large area and there’s very little shade. It can get windy and sites directly on the beach front are most affected. Fishing is popular and we have successfully caught squid off the jetty. You need to book ahead and it’s cash only.
12 k’s north of Rapid Bay you’ll find one of my favourite beaches on the Fleurier. Second Valley Beach is a beautiful little cove surrounded by limestone cliffs. There’s limited parking so get in early and set yourself up for a day of swimming, diving, snorkelling or fishing.
