Planning to road trip Australia can be an exciting and challenging experience especially if like us, you’re new to off road driving and towing. So we set about doing some research and talking to those in the know. Planning began two years ago and we were somewhat raw and naive! We attended caravan and camping shows, spoke to travellers on the road, read online forums and product reviews and joined a local 4WD Club. As a result we became better informed and more confident in our decision making. As the pieces of the puzzle came together we started to form questions.

Questions …

• Do we tent, camper trailer, caravan or motorhome?
• What vehicle will we need?
• Do we want to be self sufficient?
• What 4WD, off road and towing skills will we need ?
• What accessories will we need?
• Are we going to travel mainly on tar or dirt?
• What will we pack?
• How much will it cost and how can we reduce our costs?
