Northern Territory
Yesterday we were back on the Stuart HWY heading for the Northern Territory border. There’s a terrific rest area that is well maintained and back from the main road and it lies right on the border of both states. We arrived at 1.00 pm and were lucky to find a spot.
He’s one for YOUR bucket list! I took a picture of a lone cyclist heading north on the Stuart. We were doing about 80 ks up the hwy when I snapped it. A while later he pulled up at the rest area. It turns out, Dave left Perth on March 14th with a plan to cycle to Alice. Just the thought of it makes me ache all over. Go Dave!
This afternoon we arrived at Uluru-Kata Tjutu National Park. It’s very hot here but there are no flies. Yay!
As you drive down the main road some 240 kms to the national park, you find yourself scanning the distant landscape hoping to catch a glimpse of ‘The Rock’ and when you finally do, it’s gone, hidden behind the rolling hills that hug the road.
