Litchfield National Park-Tjaettaba Falls
There are falls that you swim in, those that you float around in and those that you plunge yourself into. Either way they are a welcome relief from the heat. It’s an amazing sensation when you first immerse your hot bod into the cool, refreshing clear water. You can feel the heat that of the day ooze through your pores.
The waterholes that are the most enchanting are those that require some effort. It usually involves hiking; steep uphill climbs and descents and clambering over rocks and boulders. Every now and then you stop for a breather and take in the view.
The most popular and well known are Florence and Wangi Falls, however we discovered a plunge pool that is tucked away at the very top of the Tjaettaba Falls. It’s a moderate walk in through a monsoon forest, followed by a steep climb through the savannah woodlands, but the moment you lay your eyes on the infinity pool that nature has created you know it was worth all the effort.
Plunge right in and if you’re scared of heights don’t look down!

Definitely a top spot. Top spot for a dip at the top of the falls.
