Derby & King Sound

Spent a few days here in Derby. A lovely little town and the locals are really friendly. We headed out to King Sound to watch the Australia’s and one of the world’s highest tide work it’s magic.

It did not disappoint.

Six hours later, it was full to the brim and it was flowing. We were fishing off the pier and the strength of the outward current was causing my line to float.

“Croc” came the shout from a local near us. We turned to where he was pointing and spoted our first three metre salty and within minutes it put its nose under and disappeared. No trace of where it was lurking!
