Mt Remarkable NP- Aligator Gorge

Spear Creek is a 7500ha station. It’s been run by one family for four generations. It’s famous for its dorper lambs. Organic and  tender lamb is definitely on the menu.  This is an amazing stay. Bush camping, bush kitchen and the camp hosts, Karen and Bill are friendly and welcoming.

Today we did a two hour hike though the Aligator Gorge. We trekked for 2 hours through the dry river bed at the base of the gorge. It was somewhat challenging as you had to navigate your way over lots of loose rocks.  It was an amazing hike and well worth doing.

There’s a severe weather warning in most areas across South Australia. Our plan was to head for Coober Pedy tomorrow however we’ve decided to stay another night and wait for the front to pass. Brace yourself Melbourne it’s heading your way!
